My full-time job is teaching students who are Deaf or hard of hearing, but I've worn many hats over the years: ASL educational interpreter, veterinary assistant, vet tech, and teacher of a wide range of subjects for more than 20 years.
Along the way, my passion for dog training has grown exponentially. I have learned from kind, local trainers as well as internationally renowned professionals. I have also spent years helping friends train their dogs, co-teaching classes, running my own classes, and working with my own pups. Now I am excited to officially launch Bark Academy, LLC!
I focus on helping companion pets and their humans build strong, happy relationships through basic manners and foundation obedience. I am also an AKC Certified Evaluator for S.T.A.R. Puppy, CGC, Virtual Home Manners, and Tricks.
I don't claim to be an expert in every area. If your dog has special behavioral needs, such as reactivity or aggression, or if you have high-level performance goals, I will make sure you are connected to the right trainer. You and your dog deserve the best support possible.

While I am definitely proud of the titles & ribbons we've earned, and the goals we've reached over the years, but what matters most to me is having dogs I can take anywhere. They are happy, well-adjusted, and comfortable in all kinds of places from parades and campsites, to hotel rooms and busy sidewalks. I love seeing them enjoy life, whether they are swimming, retrieving, hiking, or just stretched out in someone's lap. At the end of the day, that is what really makes me proud.
The training room is open for business! It's not huge, but it is very functional! It is great to have a safe, training space where we can get out of the elements & control the distractions!
