Who is Virtual Home Manners for?
New puppy owners who want a structured plan for home behavior.
Adult dog owners looking to polish manners and strengthen their bond.
Rescue and adopted dog owners starting fresh with basic training.
Anyone preparing for Canine Good Citizen (CGC) or other AKC titles.
You can choose to pursue an official AKC title or simply work through the checklist on your own for a personal sense of accomplishment -and I'll send you a certificate of completion, too!
Virtual Home Manners (VHM) is a fun and flexible training program created by the AKC. It helps puppies and dogs learn good manners at home — skills like sitting, coming when called, walking on a leash, and being polite around food.
You can work toward an official AKC Title, which is added to your dog’s AKC record, or a Certificate of Completion if you’re just looking for personal achievement.

✅ Video record yourself: Some universally friendly options are YouTube, Zoom, or share a Google Doc.
✅ Send the video to me! I'll be using the checklist you see here to review your video.
✅ Then I'll send the completed checklist back to you.
✅ Last step, you send: (1) the checklist and, (2) the Title Application and (3) your payment of $32 to cgcinfo@akc.org or just apply through the online portal. - It's that simple!
